Operations We offer both manually operated as well as electrically and solar powered, remote controlled clearance blinds. However, we may not be able to offer all operation types for your specific window type and size. Frequently asked questions Remote controlled blinds When should I select electrically operated blinds? VELUX electrically operated blinds are a perfect match for VELUX electric roof windows and fit these perfectly. However, if you don't have an electrically operated window, but would like to install an electrically operated blind, you simply need to add a KUX 110 control system to your order as well. As the blind is remote controlled, this kind of blind is great for windows that are out of reach or where you expect to adjust the incoming light often.Please note that the electrical blind does not come with a remote control of its own. To control the blind, you either use the same remote that you also use for your VELUX window or the remote that is included in the KUX 110 control system. When should I select solar powered blinds? VELUX solar powered blinds are a perfect match for VELUX manually operated roof windows and for VELUX solar powered roof windows. As the blind comes with a remote control and has a battery that is charged by the sun, it is also ideal for windows that are hard to reach or where you want to adjust the incoming light often. No wiring needed. Colour of top and side lists In 2014, VELUX decided to no longer offer blinds with white top and side lists. Luckily, we have been able to get our hands on the surplus stock. If you hurry up, you may therefore both be able to choose between blinds with white and aluminium coloured top and side lists! Once you have chosen your window type and size in the drop-down lists you may therefore have to choose between blinds with slim and wide top and side lists. When we say slim top and side lists, it means that the top and side list dimensions are the same as those on the current line of VELUX blinds. When we say wide top and side lists, it means that the side lists on a blind is 1.7 mm wider than those on the current line of VELUX (slim line) blinds and the top list between 25 and 32 mm wider. It could also refer to the top and side lists on electrically operated blinds which are a little bit wider than those on the manually operated blinds. When we say solar, it means that the top and side lists have the same dimensions as the wide top and side lists, but that the blind's control bar is wide as well as this also contains the solar cell unit.
