Use our handy configurator to customise your VELUX pleated blinds for your VELUX roof window. Choose from our selection of 16 elegant colours that create a gentle dimming of daylight and elegantly match your home décor.

Cheap pleated blinds for VELUX roof windows

The light-dimming pleated blinds are the perfect choice if you're looking for affordable roller blinds for roof windows. They are available with cassettes and side rails in either white or brushed aluminium. The pleated construction of the blind is sure to complement almost any interior and gives the blind an elegant look.

Choose between manual or electric operation methods

Manually operated light-dimming pleated roof blinds are operated by hand using the operation bar at the top and bottom of the blind. You can easily open or close the blind by pushing or pulling it. The manual pleated blinds are adjustable at both the top and bottom and can therefore be positioned anywhere in the window as needed. This means you can protect your privacy and avoid annoying bright sunlight while still allowing daylight to enter.  The light diffusing pleated blind with electric or solar-powered operation opens and closes by pressing the button on the included wall switch. This means you can operate your blind from anywhere in the room for optimal comfort.

Operation

"Flying" manual operation with control bar and stepless positioning
The manually operated VELUX pleated blind is what we call "flying". It is neither attached to the bottom nor the top of the window and you can therefore adjust the blind from the top down as well as from the bottom up. To operate the blind simply place your hand on the control bar at the top or bottom of the blind and raise or lower the blind. The blind can be installed in minutes with no measuring or cutting required.
Electric operation with remote control and stepless positioning
This VELUX pleated blind is remote controlled and electrically operated. The blind has stepless positioning and is perfect for roof windows that are out of reach. It can be controlled from anywhere in the room by the remote control originally supplied with your electrically operated roof window. If you don't have an electrically operated VELUX roof window, but would like to have an electrically operated blind, simply add a KUX 110 to your order. Warning! Please note that professional electrician might be required to install this product (KUX 110).
Solar powered operation with remote control and stepless positioning
This blackout blind is remote controlled and powered by an energy-saving solar-charged battery which is good for up to 600 operations even if there is no sun for recharging. Installation is wireless and the blind allows you to enjoy all the features of the io-homecontrol® functionality, e.g. to program the blind to open and close at specific hours. If you have a solar powered roof window, you can also use the remote control originally supplied with the window. Well suited for windows that are out of reach.

Frequently asked questions

  • Yes, the pleated blind can also be combined with VELUX awning blinds for additional heat protection and VELUX insect screens for an insect free invironment. Please note that you cannot combine electrically operated and solar powered blinds.
  • The VELUX pleated blind is made of a translucent polyester cloth that softly diffuses incoming light, while adding a decorative touch to your room - especially the flying, manually operated blind that is neither fixed to the bottom nor the top of the window. This gives you even greater control of your view and the amount of incoming daylight. It also allows you to create colourful and original light effects that complement your room. We recommend pleated blinds for living and dining rooms, but they are also very well suited for offices and hallways. The pleated blind is made specifically for VELUX roof windows.
  • The VELUX pleated blind is an excellent way to control the amount of daylight in your room. The blind has aluminium top and side channels and allows you to create colourful and original light effects that complement your personal choice of furniture and decor. The pleated blind also makes it easy to adjust the incoming daylight, as it can be positioned anywhere in the window, as it's not fixed – either at the top or at the bottom. This is what we call a "flying" blind. This provides basic privacy and greater control of sunlight and makes the blind ideal for installing in living rooms or dining areas.
  • VELUX electrically operated blinds are a perfect match for VELUX electric roof windows and fit these perfectly. However, if you don't have an electrically operated window, but would like to install an electrically operated blind, you simply need to add a KUX 110 control system to your order as well. As the blind is remote controlled, this kind of blind is great for windows that are out of reach or where you expect to adjust the incoming light often. Please note that the electrical blind does not come with a remote control of its own. To control the blind, you either use the same remote that you also use for your VELUX window or the remote that is included in the KUX 110 control system.
  • When thinking about purchasing a non-manual blind, there are a number of factors you may want to consider.

    1. Only genuine VELUX blinds are available with remote control operation. All Itzala blinds are manually operated.

    2. VELUX blinds are also available in an electrically operated or solar operated version. Both are very practical as they allow you to adjust the blinds placement with ease, putting complete daylight control right at your fingertips. Remote control blinds are highly recommended for windows that are out-of-reach, in an extension or high up in a loft, and for windows where you expect to adjust the position of the blind often.

Electrically operated blinds are only suitable for VELUX INTEGRA® electric roof windows. Solar powered blinds fit all manually operated VELUX roof windows and also all solar powered VELUX INTEGRA® roof windows.

Both types of blinds are remote controlled, but can, apart from the tilting feature on the electrically operated VELUX venetian blind, also be manually operated. The remote control for the electrically operated blind is battery powered. The solar powered blind is powered by an energy-saving, solar-rechargeable battery, which is good for up to 600 operations even if there is no sun for recharging. Electrically operated blinds are also available with io-homecontrol® for intelligent features, such as scheduling.

    3. Non manual blinds are available in multiple versions. Blackout blinds and Roller blinds are available in electrically operated or solar powered versions. Venetian blinds only come in manually operated and electrically operated versions. Awning blinds are available in manually operated or solar powered versions. Pleated blinds are only available in a manually operated version. Both blinds are remote controlled, but can, apart from the tilting feature on the electrically operated VELUX venetian blind, also be manually operated.
